Ahead of SFC’s fiftieth anniversary, our flagship crew from the USS Tesla are beaming down for Acme Comic Con in Glasgow! Now a regular fixture at the Glasgow convention, the crew will be on hand to talk Trek, the fleet and with their array of props on hand this coming weekend!
Led by Captain Stevenson and his command team, Tesla have had another packed year as they continue to explore strange new worlds across Scotland! Almost a year since their last outing at the SEC, the crew are back together on both days to join the fun and games of the huge event.
With a stronghold in the iconic SEC venue, Acme Comic Con formed from the best of Scottish promotional talents to combine into the mega event it is today! Spreading out across a wider area this year, the event will host a range of vendors, special guests and fan tables from across the geeky world! With displays, photo ops and more including kid areas and their cosplay championship, Acme’s return looks to be bigger than ever before!
One of the main attractions this year is a rare guest for Scotland. Known to Doctor Who fans as Rose Tyler, Billie Piper comes to Glasgow this weekend with photo opportunities and signings available! Her companions ihn the guest line up include Balders Gate voice actors Emma Gregory, Adam Wincott and Tim Downie; Power of the Rings star Daniel Weyman and more including Red Dwarfs Hattie Hayridge alongside co-creator Doug Naylor!
And of course, with the Tesla crew will be there as well alongside other groups such as Ghostbusters Alba and the UKCM, there’s lots of fun to be had this coming weekend! As always the Tesla team will be out in force displaying some fantastic Trek goodies including books to skim through, prop displays including some new phaser rifles and loads more.

One of the more popular starship designs to come out of the mid-late 24th century, the Nova and it's sub class the Rhode Island, had an unusual history. Initially drafted as one of many designs conceptualised following early encounters with the Borg, it's origins lay in defensive planning before it was finalised for a more scientific role in favour of other defensive options for the fleet. Designed for combat initially, the Nova Class was one of many styles designed to be small, compact and manoeuvrable that could be built up in large numbers to bolster the fleeds defence in times of crisis. Following a landmark year and a new drive to refresh fleet services starting with the website revamp to close the year, we're in constant review mode to make sure that our systems and services are working for everyone within Q2. Despite January seemingly lasting three times as long as normal this year, we've already had a great start with Tesla and Proxima heading into their first away missions of the year, and new opportunities arsing from a temporary change of command on the Churchill and two new members on board the new Fleet Support Group. As we enter 2025 (or... 2402...?) there's no rest for the crew of the Tesla as the team are already back in action making a return to two of the biggest events in Scotland! Admin Office Closed For Annual Leave
Attention all hands - and potential hands! The Admin office for SFCQ2 will be closed temporarily between the 7th-18th November due to an impromptu Admirals holiday! Following the major site upgrade recently, Admin will be taking a short break from regular duties to attend to urgent personal matters. From mid-day January 6th the Admin office will be wrapping up ahead of departure on the 7th. As all incoming membership applications are handled director by the Director of Fleet Administration, we will be accepting applications but please be aware that processing will be paused until return on the weekend of January 18th. At present this is an estimate date and may be extended. For current active members, there'll be no change in operations and no effect on any individual Fleet or Unit Operations. New Year, New Site!
After months of planning and a few mentions here and there, we're as surprised as anyone that after planning a newly refreshed site for 2025, we made it in time without anything going wrong! Reviewing 2024 we've been plotting, planning and organising in the background ahead of a huge push for 2025 to revive some administrative energy and while a new site may seem like it's last on (very long) a list of priories, a new look to match the energy we wanted to go into 2025 with was a big task to get the ball running.
