As Star Trek shifts to a new era as several shows have came to a close, October has offered a glance at whats to come in it's future with new cast joining two upcoming shows and a final launch date for the Section 31 offshoot announced.
Every year SDCC brings a load of news and announcements from all around the world of film and television and this year, while Robert Downey Junior unmasked as Doctor Doom and Mark Hamil joins the cast of Spongebob Squarepants, the Star Trek Universe had a few reveals of their own.

After an era of being spoiled for choice when it came ot Star Trek shows, Paramount+ has announced the future of two of it's most popular streamed series as Star Trek's first animated comedy comes to an end whilst Captain Pike gets another season to explore Strange New Worlds with Spock and his Number One.
Even before Strange New Worlds introduced it's new crew, the return of Captain Pike and his Number One in Discovery's second season had already given a new lease of life to the abandoned original crew of the Starship Enterprise. Now leading their own show and diving into two characters who'd barely had a chance to shine, the show has taken the opportunity to dive further into both underdeveloped characters and unexplored background of the original Star Trek era.
Following a successful debut Season, Strange New Worlds continued to live up to it's promise of bringing episodic adventures while pushing narrative boundaries right from the start before bouncing from theme to theme in a vaguely connected collection of adventures. And it all began where we left off; with a disconnected crew following La'an's resignation and Chin-Rileyss arrest.
