As we enter the final month of the year, we’re pleased to announce that after a lot off work from it’s new lead, SFCQ2’s Director off Fleet Operations has given the green light to a new unit being formed under the leadership of returning member Boyd Halliwell.
Introducing the USS Artemis!
Revealed first on our primary members group, Facebook’s Starbase Europa, Admiral Mitchell introduced the fleet to the new ship and it’s Captain;
Attention All Hands, All Commands.Priority Message from Director of Operations:Gentlebeings: Ladies, Gentlemen and Others, Officers and Enlisted,With a supremely competent support staff in post, it is a rare moment that requires DOPS to descend from the Top Floor, but there are some tasks that I reserve for myself: Tonight, I am pleased to have two pleasant duties to perform.Most importantly, effective Stardate 74915.06 – 00 hours, December 1st in the old money – Lieutenant (JG) Boyd Halliwell is assigned as Commanding Officer, U.S.S.(P) Artemis, NX-79206. Upon accepting his assignment, Mr Halliwell is authorised to clear moorings and begin Shakedown Cruise.Further, I have upon my desk a recommendation from the Commanding Officer of the Sovereign, recommending Mr Halliwell’s Immediate promotion in recognition of his dedication and hard work. Under normal circumstances I would say that getting your first command is reward enough, but this is 2020 – when rules are bent in creative ways. CREW TRANSFERS
Founding members that have joined in the building process have already began to transfer and should receive an official confirmation from Admin via email. Members that fall within the catchment of Artemis within Liverpool, North Wales and neighbouring areas will receive a formal invite to transfer by email.
If you’re in the catchment and want to transfer but haven’t received instructions, please either email Admin directly or submit a transfer request through the Account Section of the Membership Hub.

[Ships Of The Line] The Nova (& Rhode Island) Class
One of the more popular starship designs to come out of the mid-late 24th century, the Nova and it's sub class the Rhode Island, had an unusual history. Initially drafted as one of many designs conceptualised following early encounters with the Borg, it's origins lay in defensive planning before it was finalised for a more scientific role in favour of other defensive options for the fleet. Designed for combat initially, the Nova Class was one of many styles designed to be small, compact and manoeuvrable that could be built up in large numbers to bolster the fleeds defence in times of crisis. Following a landmark year and a new drive to refresh fleet services starting with the website revamp to close the year, we're in constant review mode to make sure that our systems and services are working for everyone within Q2. Despite January seemingly lasting three times as long as normal this year, we've already had a great start with Tesla and Proxima heading into their first away missions of the year, and new opportunities arsing from a temporary change of command on the Churchill and two new members on board the new Fleet Support Group. Admin Office Closed For Annual Leave
Attention all hands - and potential hands! The Admin office for SFCQ2 will be closed temporarily between the 7th-18th November due to an impromptu Admirals holiday! Following the major site upgrade recently, Admin will be taking a short break from regular duties to attend to urgent personal matters. From mid-day January 6th the Admin office will be wrapping up ahead of departure on the 7th. As all incoming membership applications are handled director by the Director of Fleet Administration, we will be accepting applications but please be aware that processing will be paused until return on the weekend of January 18th. At present this is an estimate date and may be extended. For current active members, there'll be no change in operations and no effect on any individual Fleet or Unit Operations. New Year, New Site!
After months of planning and a few mentions here and there, we're as surprised as anyone that after planning a newly refreshed site for 2025, we made it in time without anything going wrong! Reviewing 2024 we've been plotting, planning and organising in the background ahead of a huge push for 2025 to revive some administrative energy and while a new site may seem like it's last on (very long) a list of priories, a new look to match the energy we wanted to go into 2025 with was a big task to get the ball running. New Appointments to Fleet Support; Internal Relations & EDI Officers Selection
As part of some tweaks to fleet structure heading into 2025, our first two new Fleet Support positions have been filled just after celebrating SFC's 50th anniversary. The expansion of Fleet Support allows for more ideas and voices to enter the general operations of Quadrant 2 whilst opening more opportunities for advancement and contributing to the fleet overall.
