The only official Star Trek convention in the UK is back in just a matter of days as the NEC once again hosts the stars of Trek at the NEC in Birmingham for Destination Star Trek!
Licensed by CBS, DST has become the biggest event on the UK Trek calendar with special guests, panels, prop displays and a whole lot more.
This years event has more than a few big names to meet including recently announced Patrick Stewart and Picard/Next Generation c-star Brent Spiner; the new Enterprise crew, Ethan Peck and Anson Mount; Discovery stars Anthony Rapp & Wilson Cruz and many more from all eras of Trek including Michelle Forbes, Denise Crosby, David Warner, JG Hertler & Alive Eve just to name a few!
Several guests will be taking the stage to talk Trek and answer fan questions throughout the three-day event with both paid panels as well as free panels running throughout the venue.
Aside from guests this years set up also includes a gaming zone, green screen photo shoots, the Trek costume and prop gallery and after making it’s debut in Las Vegas, the Picard: First Duty exhibition.
DST kicks off on Friday 25th October and will run through Sunday 27th at the NEC in Birmingham. Tickets for the event, panels and autographs are on sale now – for tickets and more information, you can visit destinationstartrek.com.
If you’ve been following SFC, curious about joining or are a member already, you can meet the fleet in the Fan Zone! This year SFC will be in action as both a meeting and information point within the Fan Zone of the event.

Comms/Comms Relay Revisions from Beta Quarter 2025 Onwards
Following our last released issue of Comms as a downloadable publication, we've been moving to an easier and more accessible format by using Q2's website for various articles and updates throughout the year which has included some carry over features from Comms itself. After some trial and error experimentation, our 2025 plan began with some tests through the first quarter and a new comms line up for the site ahead of any plans by our next Fleet Comms Officer. A New Class: Academy Revisions For The Class of 2402
It's only April and the year has been one for us to take a step back and review our operations to do some much overdue maintenance on our overall performance and offerings. One of the major hurdles for the second quarter is one of the tougher parts of Q2: The Academy. Once upon a time the Academy was a core part of the experience in joining SFC. After singing up new members would pass through the Academy, completing a series of tests before becoming an ensign, joining their unit and becoming an active member of the club. As we enter 2025 (or... 2402...?) there's no rest for the crew of the Tesla as the team are already back in action making a return to two of the biggest events in Scotland! Admin Office Closed For Annual Leave
Attention all hands - and potential hands! The Admin office for SFCQ2 will be closed temporarily between the 7th-18th November due to an impromptu Admirals holiday! Following the major site upgrade recently, Admin will be taking a short break from regular duties to attend to urgent personal matters. From mid-day January 6th the Admin office will be wrapping up ahead of departure on the 7th. As all incoming membership applications are handled director by the Director of Fleet Administration, we will be accepting applications but please be aware that processing will be paused until return on the weekend of January 18th. At present this is an estimate date and may be extended. For current active members, there'll be no change in operations and no effect on any individual Fleet or Unit Operations. New Year, New Site!
After months of planning and a few mentions here and there, we're as surprised as anyone that after planning a newly refreshed site for 2025, we made it in time without anything going wrong! Reviewing 2024 we've been plotting, planning and organising in the background ahead of a huge push for 2025 to revive some administrative energy and while a new site may seem like it's last on (very long) a list of priories, a new look to match the energy we wanted to go into 2025 with was a big task to get the ball running. On the front end, we've kept things roughly the same with only a few minor tweaks. Posts will still be split between two main sections. New Appointments to Fleet Support; Internal Relations & EDI Officers Selection
As part of some tweaks to fleet structure heading into 2025, our first two new Fleet Support positions have been filled just after celebrating SFC's 50th anniversary. The expansion of Fleet Support allows for more ideas and voices to enter the general operations of Quadrant 2 whilst opening more opportunities for advancement and contributing to the fleet overall.
