This week the cast and crew of Discovery are headed to San Diego Comic Con, hosting a panel with sneak peeks on the new show! Discovery heads to San Diego Comic Con!

Starfleet's new officers are ready to make their first public appearance together in just a matter of days as Star Trek Discovery heads to the infamous media event, Dan Diego COmic Con! The event hinted at by Discovery's Chris Obi several montha back will take place this Saturday, July 22nd in Ballroom 20 at Comic-Con International in San Diego. On hand for the event is series lead Sonequa Martin Green, who will play the conflicted Michael Burnham, plus series cast Doug Jones (Lt Saru), Shazad Latif (Lt Tyler), Jascon Isaacs (Captain Lorca), Anthony Rapp (Lt Stamets) and James Frain (Sarek) among more. Revealed by EW earlier today, we have our first look at Michelle Yeoh and Sonequa Martin Green in their Star Trek Discovery role! While the picture doesn't reveal much, after little drips of information so far, the wait may be over! Changes and new additions to Discovery Cast!

Announced and confirmed by StarTrek.com, Discovery's ranks continue to swell after Sonqua Martin-Green was officially confirmed as Lt Commander Burnham and the shock revelation that The OFfice's Rainn Wilson would revive the role of Harry Mudd! Known for her role as the devious and deceitful Tory Foster in Battlestar Galactica, Rekha Sharma is giving up colonial life for Starfleet as she boards the Discovery as Commander Landry, it's new security officer! Sharma has also made appearances in sci fi drama The 100, the reboot of V and many more including Arrow, Smallville and Supernatural! Joining Sharma in her Starfleet career is Shazad Latif. Sonequa Martin Green named as First Officer Michael Burnham

Despite the news leaking late last year, CBS has finally officially confirmed Sonequa Martin-Green as the lead in Discovery! Martin-Green's casting last year brought a close to a long and determined search to find the perfect lead for Discovery which has partially caused delays to the process of building the show. Bryan Fuller, who stepped down as showrunner last year after constructing much of the shows history, told fans at Comic Con that he wanted to cast a non-white woman in the lead role, in part inspired by the iconic role Nichelle Nichols had in the original series and for Mae Jamieson, the first the first African-American woman to launch into space. After the news that Rainn Wilson would be appearing in Discovery as the legendary Harry Mudd, there's more casting news to come. In a recent interview, Wendy Crewson announced that she'll be taking up the role of an Admiral on Star Trek Discovery! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5SzUvfuqXB0 "I'm gonna be the Starfleet Admiral, so that means I'm the real big boss!"
