Strange New Worlds

Gorn But Not Forgotten; Shuttle to Kenfori. Strange New Worlds S3E3 Review

Complications arise in Batel's treatment following the Gorn incident and things are beginning to get messy. With a plan in motion to Tuxiv their way out of the situation, M'Benga takes Pike on a road trip to a banished world on an off book mission to find a cure. But as the Enterprise waits, they realise they're not alone.... Writers: Onitra Johnson & Bill WolkoffDirector: Dan Liu So far Strange New Worlds has been at it's best when delving into the darker parts of it's characters and their passionately kind chief medical officer has a past that's just too fascinating not to enjoy. Last season we found out that M'Benga had a bit of a split career during the Klingon War. He ended it as a field doctor, but started in black ops missions. So bringing him along for a […]

Make A Wish: Wedding Bell Blues, Strange New Worlds S3E2 Review

After three months of repairs following their run in with the Gorn, Nurse Chapel is bringing a friend home just in time for the crew to have recovered from the ships rebuild in time to celebrate Federation Day! Or maybe a wedding....? Writers: Kirsten Beyer & David Reed Director: Jordan Canning   It's only episode two and we're already hitting our now traditional 'lets f--k with Spock' episode. This time round, despite a warning not to from Chapel, Spock's getting himself in the romantic spirit to woo her back. He's got an antique book, he's figured out how dancing works thanks to La'an, who's just as surprised as the rest of us she can dance, and of course, it doesn't go to plan. Mainly as after three months of studying with Roger Korby, they've done a wee bit more than […]

Strange New Worlds

Natural Gorn Killers: Hegemony Part II, S3E1 Review.

After a rescue mission gone wrong, half the crew have been captured by the Gorn, the Enterprise is on the wrong side of the border, Captain Batel has been fully aliened and the order to retreat and regroup has come through and in the middle of it all stands Pike, pacing his way through a season break and a writers strike to finally answer his first officer asking for orders. Writers: Davy Perez & Henry Alonso Myers Director: Chris Fisher   Opening right where things left off – with Pike realising his noble plans had turned to chaos – there's really no hesitation in the action. There's camera twirling, snap decision making and even giving Mitchell some day saving ideas as Pike plucks the best ideas Picard style to figure out his next move. From there it's a three story […]

[Retro Review] Living Witness: Voyager S4E23

'When diplomacy fails, there's only one alternative: violence. Force must be applied, without apology. It's the Starfleet way.' It's often said that history is written by the victors and while not often true, events are often relayed through time with a sense of bias. When it came to the USS Voyager getting in the middle of two warring factions, the story told over the centuries would become that of a warship led by a relentless Captain who'd commit genocide in exchange for the location of a wormhole that would get her crew home. War mongers from the other side of the galaxy blasting the Kyrians to pieces with biogenic weapons, abusing their powerful technology and murdering billions on a whim. That was the story passed through generations and retold through holographic re-enactments to visitors at a Kyrian museum, a historical […]

The Final Frontier for Strange New Worlds & A Legend Revived! Across the Universe June 2025!

As we wait impatiently for the launch of Strange New Worlds third season, and the resolution to the dramatic cliff-hanger that saw the Enterprise crew separated in a battle against the Gorn, Paramount has given the bittersweet news that the series end is in sight by announcing earlier this month that it's fifth season would be it's last. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cwqPH7UhKYI In a joint statement, the executive producers – Alex Kurtzman, Akiva Goldsman and Henry Alonso Myers – focused on the adventures to come whilst being thankful for the journey so far. “ “We’re deeply grateful to Paramount+ for the chance to complete our five-season mission, just as we envisioned it, alongside our extraordinary cast and crew. And to the passionate fans who’ve boldly joined us on this journey.” Some time and a couple of Hollywood strikes ago, SNW's third and fourth […]
