CBS unveils Discovery’s Season 3 Title Sequence & Character Promo’s
Over the past few weeks we’ve had a few teases and previews for whats to come for the next Season of Star Trek Discovery as we enter a world of change in both their new home and in the production itself. The most intriguing piece of the puzzle for many being what the new Starfleet emblem looks like in the future.
Showcasing a far future Federation flag in early teasers and poster art, we got a glimpse of the new pin through an early production leak before the new style appeared in CBS promo work last month. with several fans (and ebay sellers!) trying to figure out the new look logo.
Ahead of the third season launch, CBS unveiled the newly tweaked title sequence giving us a sneak peek of production art and the usual teasers we’ve seen in previous seasons…
Discovery title sequences tend to give little hints at whats to come throughout the show. The previous transporter sequence featured three Enterprise-style pins, with one vaporised, foreshadowing the third member of the team beaming aboard Discovery quickly being killed off. This time we see the new pins replacing them and a few other intriguing aspects.
New tech is also highlighted, including the Discovery-era phaser morphing into a sleaker style similar in shape to the 29th century weapon seen in Voyager; new character Book’s ship and strangely, dilitthium crystals have been recoloured from green to red – potentially linking to “the Burn” mentioned in the Season 3 Trailer.
Further to the trailer, we also got a few new character portraits featuring newcomer Book, his companion Grudge and Blu del Barrio’s newcomer Adira.
Discovery Season 3 launches October 15th in the US through All Access while those of us in Europe will see the new season from October 16th on Netflix. Beware spoilers as we expect them to be plentiful on twitter and Facebook!

Wibbly Wobbly, Timey Wimey: ‘Tomorrows Enterprise’, Strange New Worlds S4E10
Focusing on two timelines, Tomorrows Enterprise leads with Uhura of the present linked to her future as the two work together, manipulating the timeline to their advantage to solve the mystery of an undecipherable alien message, and a certain Scottish engineer who seems to have vanished from the timeline in the future... What If…. the Whales Were Never Extinct?
Fondly remembered as the lightest, more comedic entries in Star Trek's film offerings, The Voyage Home is the story of an alien probe coming to Earth to talk to it's whale pen pal, a little bit miffed that they've not had a letter in a while. Looking ahead to the next generation of Star Trek shows, Paramount and Secret Hideout have already began announcing new cast members to lead the Starfleet Academy series coming to the streaming platform in the near future. News of the show has already turned heads with notes that the new academy campus will be the largest seen on TV so far, being filmed in Pinewood';s largest stage in Canada, though in terms of what to fully expect from the young adult drama, things are largely being kept under Red Directive secrecy. Trapped between two black holes, the doorway to the Progenitor's legacy is wide open. Discovery's on guarding duty following Burnham chasing Moll inside while the Breen are recovering to take the technology for themselves before a rival faction finds them. With everything to fight for and the chase becoming a race against time, Discovery's crew enter their final house and a bit to end their five season journey.

All the pieces of the puzzle have been put together. Now with the end in sight, Burnham and her crew are on the edge of their greatest discovery. Yet there are still obstacles in the way with Moll and the Breen having taken possession of the combined Progenitor Artifact, the USS Discovery dead in the water and a potential all out conflict in the background. No wonder Rayner keeps pacing....

As Burnham and Vance look for a diplomatic answer to a fight they can't win, Moll looks for a way to escape (of course!) while Stamets rounds up the troops to try and figure out the final clue, including recruiting a bored and frustrated Book...
