Discovery Launch Pushed Back to May 2017

Since the initial announcement ten months ago, we've been impatiently waiting for Star Trek Discovery to come home to TV but it looks like we'll have a few more months of waiting before we see more strange new worlds. With production scheduled to begin in September for a January release, executive producers Bryan Fuller and Alex Kurtzman announced that they'd requested more time to perfect the series, a request CBS was happy to grant them. Star Trek Star Anton Yelchin Sadly Passes Aged 27

We're sadenned to hear the news of Anton Yelchin who passed away early Sunday morning in a fatal traffic collision at his home. From Variety: According to TMZ, which first reported the news, he was pinned by his own car at his San Fernando Valley home. Friends apparently became concerned when Yelchin did not show up for a rehearsal. According to the report, they found him at his home pinned between his car and a brick mailbox. Police reportedly told TMZ that the engine was still running when he was found, and that his car was in neutral. It’s not clear what caused the accident. Born in the former Soviet Union, Yelchin and his family emigrated to the United States when he was just six months old, seeking political asylum. Beyond follows Kirk and his crew beyond the final frontier to a new threat looming on the edge of the Federation. The fan event also saw a special announcement that Beyond will make it's debut at this years Comic Con event in San Diego in the first open air Imax screening with the all new 4D screen technology.
