Picking up a loose thread from the Next Generation, Discovery turned a one off story about a quickly forgotten galactic revelation into a full season of expanding the lore and mystery of the Progenitors. It's not for the first time either. Spock's plan for unifying Romulus and Vulcan started in the 24th century and had been realised by the time Burnham landed in the 32nd. It's not just Discovery pulling at the tapestry. Picard showed us what happened to the disconnected Borg Hugh, Lower Decks revealed Academy dropout Nick Locarno as a season baddie. Even Prodigy picked up on Janeway's career following her cameo as an Admiral on the big screen. Ever since the formation of SFC way back in the days of old, fans all over the world would immerse themselves in the idea of being as close to a real Starfleet as they could possibly get. Right down to it's orignisational structure. With Captains, Commanders and even Admirals living among us in the Starfleet world, fandom has both held on to the concept with some holding their rank and title close to their heard and others not really bothering. [Ships Of The Line] Sagan Class

Constructed and designed at the tail end of the 24th century alongside a near complete refresh of Starfleet's forces, the Sagan Class was the first in a n0ew initiative to incorporate technology both inspired and reverse engineered from Borg Technology. The first Sagan Class placed into service was the USS Stargazer, named in honour of Admiral Jean Luc Picard's first command. Much like the original Stargazer, the Sagan Class mirrored the old constitution class in being a quad-nacelles ship with similar design layout.

Sometimes cited as General Order One, the Prime Directive was implemented as an ethical rule to ensure Starfleet and the Federation stayed neutral in the wider galaxy and ensured non interference in any culture or civilisation.

[Ships Of The Line] Miranda Class

Undoubtedly the undisputed champion of design longevity, the Miranda Class is one of the strongest holdovers from the 23rd century with a design surviving multiple upgrades and new integrations over the years. Initially designed for scientific missions, as well as being used for border patrol, the Miranda Class was first launched in the 2260's with a streamlined design mirroring the Constitution Class. A simplified saucer with underslung nacelles, the Miranda was also incredibly adaptable. The original variant included a rollbar on top of the rear of the extended saucer with a dual torpedo launcher.
