To Boldly Yeoh? Michelle Yeoh Possibly Boarding Discovery! [Updated 25/11]

UPDATE 25/11: After the initial leak, CBS made a statement that information speculated by ComingSoon was innacurate. While they offer no further comment, Deadline.com reported that their sources within Discovery's team have claimed that Yeoh will portray Captain Han Bo of the USS Shenzhou. With filming starting very soon for Discovery, it looks like we've got one of the leading roles leaked courtesy of Consulting Producer Nicholas Meyer! First Teaser for New Star Trek Series

As part of an event for advertisers in New York, CBS unleashed a short teaser as their big boss Les Moonves debuted what looks to be the new logo for the the TV branch of Star Trek. It's not much, but it's enough to keep us excited! Details from the new show are yet to be finalised under showrunner Bryan Fuller and executive producer Alex Kurtzman. The still to be titled show will make it's premiere on CBS Television in January 2017 in the US with the rest of the series available weekly on CBS All Access. CBS Announces New Star Trek show for 2017!

From StarTrek.com (source): CBS Television Studios announced today it will launch a totally new Star Trek television series in January 2017. The new series will blast off with a special preview broadcast on the CBS Television Network. The premiere episode and all subsequent first-run episodes will then be available exclusively in the United States on CBS All Access, the Network’s digital subscription video on demand and live streaming service. The next chapter of the Star Trek franchise will also be distributed concurrently for television and multiple platforms around the world by CBS Studios International.
