On the red carpets of Star Trek Beyond, JJ Abrams confirmed that a fourth Star Trek movie from the Kelvin Timeline crew was in the works. Following a critically acclaimed, but underperforming run for Beyond that fourth film seemed to be shelved. After five long years and several false starts, Paramount has finally offered a beacon of hope by committing to giving us the next instalment of the film franchise, announcing a release date of June 9th 2023. But what film we'll see is still open to interpretation...
When it comes to collectables in the Star Trek world, one of the most reliable lines of merchandise were pins that fans could wear or display to replicate the brave Starfleet heroes on screen. For many fans, back in the day the go to place for these was Hollywood Pins' collection as they churned out every Starfleet emblem from all era's, rank pins and even a few commemorative pins including limited edition anniversary designs and Starships. Several other contenders have came and gone providing the coveted icons of Star Trek fandom, including the Roddenberry Store and QMX. However, the latest supplier – FanSets – seem to be the most enthusiastic yet.

Akiva Goldsman has a long history with Star Trek. First as a young kid growing up in the 70's watching original series re-runs, to asking friend JJ Abrahms for cameo's in the two Trek movies he directed, to now being a creative force within the franchise itself. Now merging his fandom with his work, he's taking Star Trek back to it's past as Strange New Worlds revisits his childhood on board the original USS Enterprise.
During it's premiere season, Star Trek Picard dipped a toe into the titular characters past as we caught up with the disconnected Borg Hugh and dropped in on former Captain Riker and his wife, Deanna Troi in a sries that ended with saying a final farewell to what was left of Data. For Season 2, we'll have another familiar face from the Next Generation join the adventure, though maybe not one Picard would be eager to meet again...
