Casting news for Discovery has been thick and fast in the past few months and today we were treated to another huge surprise as Jason Isaacs was announced by Deadline as one of Discovery's major players! Known for his role as Harry Potter Lucius Malfoy, Jason Isaacs is a hugely experienced veteran to both the large and small screen including key roles in the recent Netflix show OA as well as Brotherhood, Avatar The Last Airbender and much more - including a memorable turn as the Lewis & Clarke medic DJ in cult sci fi horror Event Horizon. “I’ve seen a little bit of it, and I’m very excited.” CEO of CBS offers insight into Discovery’s Launch Date

After some delay the team behind Discovery excited us all with a sneak peek of the show's first week of production, but the delay to begin filming caused another delay to the shows release, leaving us to question when we'll see Discovery. While actor Doug Jones, who will portray an all-new alien science officer called Saru, speculated that the show could potentially launch during the franchises anniversary month in September, CBS executives were cautious about giving another solid release date with their philosophy boiling down to "it's done when it's done", emphasising that they want to get it right first time and not rush any of the vital post production work. Star Trek Online Launches Agents of Yesterday on Console!

Late last year players of Star Trek Online on the original PC version were invited to take part in a special anniversary event, Agents of Yesterday, where the player was placed back in the 23rd century to find themselves caught up in the ongoing Temporal Cold War. As part of STO's anniversay celebrations, the Agents of Yesterday expansion is now available on XBox One and PS4 as Agents is released onto console. Three More Suit Up For Discovery!

In a surprise announcement CBS had released three more names for the cast of Discovery! Sam Vartholomeos has landed the role of Ensign Connor, a Junior Officer in Starfleet Academy assigned to the starship Shenzhou. His credits include The Secret Life of Walter Mitty and The Following. Maulik Pancholy is on board as Dr. Nambue, the Chief Medical Officer of the starship Shenzhou. Pancholy’s credits include Weeds, Hitch, 30 Rock, Phineas & Ferb, The Good Wife and Sanjay and Craig. Terry Serpico will play Admiral Anderson, a high-ranking Starfleet official. Serpico’s films and television credits include 100 Centre Street, The Departed, Army Wives, Rescue Me, Sneaky Pete, Elementary and The Purge: Election Year. First peek at Discovery!

In a surprising video post on twitter and CBS.com, Discovery posted their first peek behind the scenes to give us a peek at their first week of filming! https://twitter.com/startrekcbs/status/826490260565565440 With filming starting earlier this month, it's just a quick peek into the new world of Trek but if you look close we can see some set detailing, a new ship design (possibly the Shenzhou), new uniforms and insignia and a lot more!
