Paul Giamatti joins Holly Hunter for Starfleet Academy!

Looking ahead to the next generation of Star Trek shows, Paramount and Secret Hideout have already began announcing new cast members to lead the Starfleet Academy series coming to the streaming platform in the near future. News of the show has already turned heads with notes that the new academy campus will be the largest seen on TV so far, being filmed in Pinewood';s largest stage in Canada, though in terms of what to fully expect from the young adult drama, things are largely being kept under Red Directive secrecy. However we now at least know who will be leading the new class ahead of the shows production...

STLV Highlights: Wilson Cruz Speaks on the Importance of his Role in Discovery

As San Diego Comic Con Anthony Rapp announced another cast member for Star Trek Discovery during the cast panel as he told fans at SDCC that Wilson Cruz was filming alongside them as Discovery medical officer Dr Hugh Culber. At Star Trek Las Vegas Cruz - Known for shows including My So Called Life, Party of Five, Red Band Society and more including recently appearing in 13 Reasons Why - made his first public appearance as a member of the Discovery cast, taking part in panels and press interviews during his stay. After the news that Rainn Wilson would be appearing in Discovery as the legendary Harry Mudd, there's more casting news to come. In a recent interview, Wendy Crewson announced that she'll be taking up the role of an Admiral on Star Trek Discovery! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5SzUvfuqXB0 "I'm gonna be the Starfleet Admiral, so that means I'm the real big boss!" The Klingons Are Coming! Three More Actors Confirmed for Discovery!

CBS has offered another surprise announcement after their recent cast reveal, bringing us three more actors for the new series, Star Trek Discovery. And this time, they're not from the Starfleet world... Announced at StarTrek.com, Chris Obi, Shazad Latif and Mary Chieffo have been named as the Klingon portion of Discovery. Playing the part of T'Kumva is Chris Obi. Known in the UK for small roles in The Peter Serafinowicz Show and alongside Matt Smith in Doctor Who, Obi has also starred as the man in the Mirror of Snow White And the Huntsman, the recent revival of Roots and will appear as Mr. Jacquel in Bryan Fuller's Neil Gaiman Adaption American gods. Casting News: Three Discovery Crewmembers Announced!

In a surprise announcement, StarTrek.com has confirmed the announcement of Michelle Yeoh for the next Star Trek series and announced two more cast members to join Star Trek Discovery! After a leak from a throwaway line courtesy of consulting producer Nicholas Meyer and speculation following from Deadline, CBS have confirmed that Michelle Yeoh will indeed be joining the cast. While the previous rumour had her listed as Han Bo, the Crouching Tiger star will portray Captain Georgiou, captain of the Federation starship Shenzhou. In confirming Yeoh's role on the show, CBS have also announced two Discovery crew members in Doug Jones and Anthony Rapp. Jones comes aboard as Lieutenant Saru, a science officer within Starfleet and an alien never before seen in the Star Trek universe. To Boldly Yeoh? Michelle Yeoh Possibly Boarding Discovery! [Updated 25/11]

UPDATE 25/11: After the initial leak, CBS made a statement that information speculated by ComingSoon was innacurate. While they offer no further comment, Deadline.com reported that their sources within Discovery's team have claimed that Yeoh will portray Captain Han Bo of the USS Shenzhou.
