Spocktember in Star Trek Online
Long running MMO Star Trek Online joined in the anniversary fun by bringing back a legendary character to their September release. On it’s original launch STO utilised the vocal talents of Leonard Nimoy as he introduced players to the wider galaxy. In the latest release, archived dialogue from Nimoy has been used to bring Spock back into the new ongoing story.
Alongside Piotr Michael, who voiced Spock in Star Trek Resurgence, adding new lines as his version of Spock, and introducing Strange New Worlds star Ethan Peck in his own version of the character, all three era’s of the iconic Vulcan come together thanks to the Guardian of Forever. As part of the Rediscovered mission, the Spock Trio lead us thrugh the search for the missing Miral Paris and Ambassador B’Vat in a ‘re-imagining’ of a lost STO episode.
The months releases also see more of the movie era getting some love with a long overdue overhaul of the infamous Monster Maroon outside style, a purchasable pack to add Captain and Lieutenant Spock to your crew and more new ways to get your hands on premium ships.

All Made Up
455 Films is set to continue their behind the scenes highlights of the Star Trek Universe with their documentary on the iconic make up artist Michael Westmore close to the end game of their crowdfunding. Westmore has had a long and illustrious career with his contributions to the world building of Star Trek still influencing the next generation of make up artists. With filming complete, including interviews with people from within the Star Trek Universe, it’s time for post production!
Based on Westmore memoir from 2017, the documentary focuses on his life and workl from the 60’s from shows like the Munsters, to Sylvester Stallone’s breakout film Rocky, to the creactions of Star Trek including refining and updating the Klingon look and bringing in new aliens to the forefront.
Coming from the producers of films including For The Love Of Spock, Chaos on the Bridge and What We Left Behind, Makeup Man is the latest in along line of Trek documentaries from 455 films. Makeup Man is set for a June 2027 release presuming no delays in the last step of funding.

Brand new steelbook editions of the original six movies are coming our way in a special anniversary collectors set. Coming with reworked art by Matt Ferguson, the new collection is expected to ship by Easter next year in the UK and Europa.

A few years ago a fan idea turned into rabid speculation and pitches from one of Strange New Worlds’ leading producers. Year One was an idea that started in the depths of social media before being unofficially floated as an idea that Akiva Goldsman began mentioning at conventions and appearances, and presumably behind the scenes at Paramount. But as Strange New Worlds wound down production, with Paramount clearing the decks as part of corporate buyouts, restructures and general messiness, props were auctioned off, sets ripped down and the future of a SNW spin off seeming less likely every day.
Speaking to Radio Times, Goldsman has confirmed his dream of continuing Strange New Worlds directly into a reworking of the original series will not become reality, revealing that his time with the franchise appears to be over with the new owners of Paramount figuring out the next steps.
In his talk with Radio Times, Goldsman explained, “Nobody’s called, the sets are gone. Everybody else has started to take other jobs. It’s never been officially yes, and it’s never been officially no. But I don’t see it happening.”
Mentioning the idea of continuation being budget friendly with the assets, and those assets being no more, Goldsman also touched on the new creative force at the now Skydance-owned company and their next steps figuring out where to take the franchise. Speaking with a little more positivity than others, Goldsman gives a nod to Chris Parnell, the new Executive VP of Originals at Paramount, while clarifying his exit from the franchise alongside Strange New Worlds final season next year.
“Strange New Worlds was everything I imagined when I couldn’t even imagine it, as a little boy playing Star Trek. Now I got to be a bigger boy playing Star Trek with somebody else’s toys.”, Goldsman continued, “As much as I’d like to still keep playing, because it’s fun, I also understand the value of renewal and whether it renews itself perfectly the first or the second or the third iteration of whatever the next – dare I say – generation of these shows are, it’ll find its way. It always does.”

Them From That Thing: Sally Kellerman
Building an eclectic career with over sixty years in film, television, music and theatre, Sally Kellerman is fondly remembered by a whole generation as the original Hotlips Houlihan in the film adaption of MASH. Her part in the world of Star Trek helped introduce the world to the little sci fi show that began it's own franchise of entertainment. Starting her acting career in the late 50's after turning down a contract with Verve Records, Kellerman was a familiar face on television by the time Star Trek came around. With appearances on Bonanza, The Alfred Hitchcock Hour and the Twilight Zone among others, Kellerman was able to gain a wide range of experience that helped establish an adaptability that would carry her career forward in playing anything from a glamorous and sophisticated character, to intense and eccentric parts. Across The Universe And Back To Strange New Worlds!
Time has certainly flown by as Strange New Worlds penultimate season is just days away. Things have been a little guarded since the show was announced to be ending with a shortened 5th season, but it gave the production plenty of warning to wrap things up and bring an end to the original Captain and his crew! With some cast announcements for Season 5 seeing new additions including Thomas Jane as Leonard McCoy, as well as knowing it'll a shorter season to bring the show to a close, the fourth instalment feels a little bittersweet. Towards the end of a long and tiring shift, the command team are more than ready to hand over to the night shift.
