Since their first appearance in 1989, the Borg had been an oddly mysterious and chilling antagonist for the Federation. Following their first encounter with the Enterprise-D, an inevitable event accelerated by Q meddling to challenge Picard, the Borg would swiftly make their mark with the first of many attacks on Earth, forcing Starfleet to adapt and change to the new and unexpected threat. It seems fitting that the man behind the emitter, Robert Picardo, has since become a larger part of the Star Trek Universe than he ever thought he'd be. [Retro Review] Endgame; Voyager Season 7 Finale

Voyager's first episode set the mission to get the lost ship back to Earth. In the serie's final episode, it would be somewhat of a let down if they just left the crew in the middle of nowhere. Even then the ending seemed like an obvious one and with it all being telegraphed 170 episodes before, the fun wasn't about if they got home, but how... But sometimes you have to wonder what happens to the inventions that didn't last the week.... Borg Again Once upon a time, Neelix died. Then Seven came along, casually unstuffed some Borg probes in him and suddenly he's back to life again. Mortal Coil is an episode that focuses on Neelix's belief and psychological after effects of being dead, even if just briefly, only to experience nothing but his revival. [Retro Review] Meld: Voyager Season 2, Episode 16

Solving a murder mystery is easy when the killer nonchalantly confirms the allegation. But when your lead investigator is a Vulcan who's live is based on logic, and your killer just casually murdered someone without a care in the world, you can't just walk away without understanding the lack of motive... I've always loved it when a show pulls back and just creates a bottle inside it's own sets. No space adventure, no travelling to other planets. Just the characters trapped inside the bulkheads with a problem to solve. There's a time for spectacle, and then there's a time for an episode like Meld when after a few dodgy episodes you just need to keep things simple and effective. Brad Dourif was also wondeful as Suder. But a calm, collected and quiet sociopath and Brad Dourif goes hand in hand. […]
