Tesla Crew Beams Down To Glasgow This Weekend!
It's almost tradition now for Tesla to host away teams to start the year, and this year is no different! After starting their year at Capital Sci Fi in Edinburgh, the crew of the Tesla are beaming down once again to Power Con in Glasgow this weekend! Hosted by Fan Frontiers, Power Con has Power has been one of the core places to meet the crew of the Tesla since it's origins as Acme Comic Con and have become a firm part of the diverse and welcoming fan centric communities hosting everything from Rebel Legions to Ghostbusters! With the guest line up this year including Doctor Who's Peter Davidson, the gaming focused event is set to host Balders Gate stars Amelia Tyler and Tom Downie, as well as Kirsty Rider from the award winning Expedition 33 and more! Promotions & Confirmations for Proxima & Kaga!
Now that 2025 is in the rear viewscreen, we can safely look back to what was a chaotic year both in and out of the Admin office. Admittedly things were busy behind the curtain and a few things fell off the radar. One of them being confirmations for new units.... When a new unit is brought into Q2, whether assimilated to the collective or built from scratch, each group goes through a 'shakedown' period and once that periods completed successfully, the ship is fully confirmed as part of SFC's structure. Traditionally a shakedown cruise is a building phase that lasts six months with goals to fulfill with new leaders and untested Captains looking for support and advice. Academy Class of 2403: Alpha Season Graduates
Opening the first class of 2403, Academy is pleased to roll out a new generation of Q2 officers completing their provisional terms - just in time for the new year! As you may be aware, new members to SFC are inducted on a "Cadet Term" to find out more about us, establish their preferred level of involvement and get to know the fleet. USS TESLA Tesla are back in action this weekend as Fan Frontiers is back in Glasgow for another weekend event! Having attended the event since it's inception as Acme Comic Con, Captain Fraz and the crew have become a regular force showcasing a vast array of Trek memorabilia, prop replica's and the occasional skant in the fan zone! This year's event is host to famed Scottish actor Robert Carlisle who returns to Glasgow for a rare meet and greet. Every quarter we'll be putting a division of Quadrant 2 under the spotlight as we Tour The Galaxy with the best and brightest of the fleet. And to start off on a high, we thought we'd begin with one of our fastest developing groups in the past decade; the USS Tesla! The first unit to launch following our mass fleet reorganisation a decade ago, the USS Tesla was first proposed as an idea in passing conversation and soon blossomed into one of the leading groups in both Q2 and in Scotland. Beta Quarter Plans and Progress..
Since the 50th anniversary of SFC as a whole, we've been on a mission to revitalise and update several elements of Quadrant 2, working on improving services and experience fleet wide for all members. Following some background changes and a lot of work in the Alpha Quarter behind the scenes, we're moving into the next phase with some more visibility in whats coming next! Balancing life and fleet life is always a trial. All too often things can lapse or take time due to finding that right balance; especially as life now is a little more chaotic than it was ten years ago and the things we'd take in our stride tend to take a little bit longer now. Upcoming Away Missions in Glasgow & Edinburgh for the Tesla!
As we enter 2025 (or... 2402...?) there's no rest for the crew of the Tesla as the team are already back in action making a return to two of the biggest events in Scotland! One of the most active and welcoming crew, the year is already off to a flying start with more to come through the year! The first events of the year include.... Capital Sci Fi Con February 15th & 16th, O2 Academy Edinburgh Always the best way to kick start the year, Tesla is once again heading to Edinburgh for their first away mission in 2025!
