Let me introduce myself. I am Commander Bond and I am stationed on the U.S.S. Churchill-A as Chief of Security. I won’t bore you with more about me as Admiral Tyler summed me up in the previous post about this position.

I am deeply honoured and humbled to have been chosen as the EDI (Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion) Officer for the fleet. This is a role I hold with the utmost respect and commitment, as it reflects the core values that have guided Starfleet since its inception. EDI has been a central theme not only in our missions but in the stories that have shaped Starfleet’s ethos since the 1960s. It was Gene Roddenberry’s vision of a united, inclusive future that first inspired so many of us to join this extraordinary journey through the stars.

Equality, diversity, and inclusion are not just ideals; they are the foundation upon which our fleet, our ships, and indeed, Starfleet itself are built. In these times, EDI is more critical than ever. As we navigate complex interstellar relationships and ever-evolving societal dynamics, EDI ensures that everyone—no matter their species, background, or abilities—feels respected, valued, and empowered to contribute to our shared mission.

Starfleet, SF Quadrant 2, and every vessel in our fleet serve as safe spaces where differences are celebrated, not merely tolerated. We live by the principle that infinite diversity in infinite combinations (IDIC) enriches us all. This Vulcan philosophy reminds us that diversity is not a challenge to be managed but a strength to be embraced. If we all remember the values of IDIC, we will remain steadfast in creating a galaxy where equality thrives.

In my role as EDI Officer, I will work tirelessly to uphold these principles. Whether addressing barriers, celebrating cultural distinctions, or fostering dialogue, my mission is to ensure Starfleet continues to lead the way in promoting understanding, mutual respect, and unity. I will collaborate with leaders and crew members alike to identify and address areas where we can grow, ensuring that every individual has a voice and a seat at the table.

Starfleet has always been a beacon of hope for a brighter future. From the historic alliance between Captain Kirk and Commander Spock to the ground-breaking leadership of Captain Janeway and Captain Burnham, we have seen time and again how inclusivity drives progress. Our ships are microcosms of what the galaxy could be—spaces where every species, from Humans to Andorians, Klingons to Bajorans, and beyond, works together for a common good.

In this day and age, where societal and intergalactic challenges continue to arise, our commitment to EDI ensures that we remain a force for peace, cooperation, and progress. By fostering environments where everyone feels they belong, we strengthen not only our fleet but the Federation as a whole.

To my colleagues across the fleet, I encourage you to reach out to me with any EDI-related matters. Together, we can build on Starfleet’s legacy and ensure that our future remains as inclusive and hopeful as the ideals we strive to uphold.

Thank you once again to the Admiral Board for entrusting me with this responsibility. I pledge to serve with integrity, passion, and dedication.

Live Long and Prosper,

Cmdr Bond
EDI Officer, SFQ2

Celebrating Pride Month in Starfleet Quadrant 2: Unity Through Diversity Among the Stars

In the boundless expanse of the galaxy, Starfleet has always stood as a beacon of unity, peace, and exploration. As we chart new star systems and engage with civilizations across sectors, it becomes ever more important to honor the values that underpin our mission: inclusion, respect, and the celebration of diversity. That’s why celebrating Pride Month across Starfleet—especially in Quadrant 2, where cultural convergence is rapidly evolving—is not only a matter of morale, but of principle. Pride Month offers us a meaningful opportunity to affirm and uplift our LGBTQIA+ crewmembers, officers, and civilians. While Starfleet’s non-discrimination charter has long ensured equal opportunity, equality alone is not enough. Visibility, acknowledgment, and celebration are equally essential in fostering a truly inclusive culture. In Quadrant 2—where new outposts, colonies, and diplomatic relationships are forming—Pride Month represents an essential step in building mutual understanding […]

Promotions & Confirmations for Proxima & Kaga!

Now that 2025 is in the rear viewscreen, we can safely look back to what was a chaotic year both in and out of the Admin office. Admittedly things were busy behind the curtain and a few things fell off the radar. One of them being confirmations for new units.... When a new unit is brought into Q2, whether assimilated to the collective or built from scratch, each group goes through a 'shakedown' period and once that periods completed successfully, the ship is fully confirmed as part of SFC's structure. Traditionally a shakedown cruise is a building phase that lasts six months with goals to fulfill with new leaders and untested Captains looking for support and advice. Being honest, our latest entries into Q2 were doing that well that they didn't need anyone to help steer the ship. Both ships […]
