Joining SFC can sometimes be a whirlwind. Especially as we have been through a lot of changes recently. As part of our Q2&A Updates, we’d like to hand over to one of the latest additions to the Admiralty Board and our new Director of Fleet Administration.

Quadrant 2, meet your new Director of Administration! 🖖
I’m Rear Admiral Piers Drinkall, and I’m delighted to have recently joined the Admiralty Board as Director of Administration.
My Starfleet journey began aboard the U.S.S. Sovereign, where I joined as an Ensign and Armory Officer in 2014. From there, I progressed through the ranks on the SOV as follows –
- 2015: Promoted to Lieutenant Junior Grade
- 2018: Appointed Second Officer
- 2019: Promoted to Lieutenant and later became First Officer
- 2020: Took command of the Sovereign and promoted to Lieutenant Commander
- Late 2020: Promoted to Commander
- 2021: Promoted to Captain
After many great years aboard the Sovereign, I moved into Fleet Support in late 2024, taking up the role of Internal Relations Officer. In 2025, I became Fleet Development Officer, alongside my promotion to Commodore.
Now, in 2026, I’ve taken on my latest challenge as Director of Administration, following my promotion to Rear Admiral and appointment to the Admiralty Board. It is my honour to follow in Admiral Tyler and Admiral Mitchell’s footsteps in this position.
I’ve enjoyed Star Trek since my early teens, and it’s been fantastic to be part of a community that shares that same passion. I’m looking forward to working alongside Admiral Tyler and the rest of the Admiralty Board, supporting our members, strengthening the fleet and helping keep Quadrant 2 moving in the right direction.
I’m looking forward to meeting more of you and working together for the future of the fleet.

[Departmental] Introducing General Board
The General Board is a relatively new concept and the next evolution of Fleet Support. Mirroring the Captains Table, the General Board is constructed to help overall fleet operations and to contribute more voices and ideas to the clubs operation. [Q2&A] Career Track
SFC has always structured it's internal reward and recognition system on the command structure of Starfleet on screen. Newbies are cadets. When they become full members, they become Ensigns. And those eager to take on a leadership role can rank up to Commander or Captain. Even the board of directors are mirrored within the theme as Commodores and Admirals! In the past ten years we've tried to make a conscious effort to make things easier for members to manage and consult the admin side of Q2. Before the days of the internet, any guides, documents or forms were issued by request and a little harder to come by but now things tend to be found within our online membership portal that's constantly changing and growing based on feedback from across the fleet. Now we try to make things as easy add adaptable as possible, utilising our online home for as many member needs as we can with our key resource online being our Officers Hub. [Q2&A] Celebrating Ten Years of the USS Churchill
Commissioned in February 2016 to oversee operations in Southern England and Wales, the USS Churchil is one of two online-centric units created by merging several localised units into one larger region. Throughout 2015-16, SFC was experiencing some fatigue and, to cut it short, needed a bit of a reboot. While there was activity and things were ticking along, the fleet as a whole was in a bit of a rough patch. After a huge fleet wide consultation, we went full Voyager and hit the reset button. Keeping Sovereign active as the 'catch all' unit with a heavy base in the North of England and Ireland, there was enough spark in the South to keep things alive with a new combined 'super-unit', a second online base from which to grow.
